Lucy seated on rooftop terrace with black LUCY bag at her feet

Made by a designer who spent 27 years in luxury. And still couldn’t find the handbag of her dreams.

Lucy has spent 27 years designing for luxury brands across South Africa, the UK, Germany, Switzerland and France. From Design Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Geneva to Group Creative Director for a luxury communications house in Lausanne and Gstaad, she built a career around knowing what beautiful really means.

But she still couldn’t find the bag she was searching for. Something soft and sculptural. Round instead of rigid. Beautiful, but deeply functional. A bag that could hold real life - airports, work, groceries, long lunches, late evenings and everything in between.

It didn’t exist.

So she designed the LUCY bag.

Today, Lucy co-runs the SUNSHINE Design Collective between Cape Town and Lisbon - a creative studio working across brand, culture, art and design. LUCY was born from that same world: thoughtful design, beautiful objects and a life constantly in motion.

The result. One bag. For every version of your day.
